Hi Its Debbie from Doing my best for Him. In response to your question about the steam canner. I think you could use another pan set up if you can find something similar. I was talking to a friend of mine about it the other day and she said her mom used pans and did the same thing. The only thing I would wonder about is the steam vents that allow you to see how long the steam stream is and begin your timing from that. If you used a pan or pot you didnt need for other things you could just poke a couple of holes in it. If you want to do something like that, let me know and I can take a close up of the location of the steam vents.
